Firefighting system Design
This is a note to those who are willing to learn the firefighting system. It is very simple if we take care of basics.
Main points to note:
GPM<=1250 GPM For hydrant system (500 GPM at the remotest hydrants and 250 in rest of the risers in vertical riser system: Maximum 750 GPM if horizontal hydrant system)
Gpm<=1000 GPM for sprinkler system
Pump Head:
For Hydrant: The pressure at the topmost farthest hydrant is 30 PSI i.e. 2 Bar.
For Sprinkler System: Residual Pressure is almost 20 PSI minimum. (look at the table below)

SPRINKLER HYDRANT COMBINATION
Sprinkler system GPM is not to be included as it is less compared to Hydrant.
