Strong Builders

Every boss was an Employee. They learnt and were sure of mistakes on their profession. But as they turn into BOSS, they forget to work like they were before. Transition occurs too fast. Then whatever the problems they learnt when they were employee, they don't rectify or look for it. In other words, they ignore or their knowledge what makes them confident in opening a business become useless. They become Lazy. They simply become Boss.

This is similar to my blog titled Loopholes-where mistake can happen. But this is related to the construction of Buildings, specifically speaking MEP. These are the things that must be taken care when anything is built. Not after.
First Design for the functions, then only for the Aesthetics unless aesthetics is its function. The comfort and functionality of the building should not be compromised in the name of Aesthetics.

Some of the key features for stronger bulletproof are as follows:
  1. Make everything stronger in itself, so strong like that it is proud of itself and don't want others to come near.  what I mean is, for example, the plumbing system in the building should be isolated and made leak proof and should not depend much on the civil structure for its liquid flow, obviously for support and other strength factors but not fluids. The fluids must not come in contact with the Civil grounds or tiles or whatever other MEP components. Make it leakproof. Better allocate the holes and chipping area needed for plumbing before the construction of wall, allocate the riser before constructing the slab and so on. The holes should be perfect holes Like it is the structure or like it was designed to be hole, chipping should be perfect chipping done by experts civil builders, not by MEP technicians. So, what I basically mean is, Civil after it is constructed should not be modified or chipped by MEP parts. Civil should be left alone and MEP should do its work. The water from the tank in roof should not come in contact with the tile of the slab, even if it falls, it should leave with proper slope to rainwater pipe.
  2. AC to AC, plumbing to Plumbing, electrical to electrical, they work together but they are separate components. So, treat them as they are.
  3. Learn about slope, Learn about sunlight, Learn about Electrical load balancing.
  4. identify relationships, e.g., water line routed above electrical equipment determine location and size of wall and floor penetrations
  5. Always try to minimize the number of bends, fitting connections if possible as it helps in leakage loss prevention, moving parts which needs maintenance and lead to interference.
  6. If the MEP items occupy ceiling, know the machine height and ceiling height if it matches or not, if in the floor look at the floor space and if in the wall look the wall position if it can be installed properly.
  7. Decide the route prior the starting of work. Routing priority from HVAC dry as highest to electrical conduit as lowest.
  8. cross check every component within a system, for example in HVAC system calculate load of  indoor vs outdoor, count  kits and remotes if they all can work together quantitatively and qualitatively.
  9. Ask why questions every time whatever you do? It makes you be aware of any changes or activities.
